Have also been looking to try the rum porter but havent had any luck finding it around my neck of the woods.

Like I said in the other thread , IBS had some a couple of weeks ago.
They're the sort of place in Perth that would keep it in stock.

If your serving pressure isnt high enough (or it is overgassed) the CO2 will come out of solution I have found. Also if you have a fridge tap the first half glass or so tends to be a bit frothy untill the tap cools down.

Nope, just the cascade and once with no hops.
It would probably go pretty well with whatever hop of choice you use. The US-56 seems to make a really nice crisp ale and brings out the hops flavour/aroma.

Morgans Blue Mountain Lager
1kg Light Dry Malt Extract
25g Cascade Hops
Safale US-56 Yeast

Tastes really good young, dont think I will get a chance to taste it as it later on at the rate its dissapearing with my brother and sisters bf here.

Made this with a US-56 yeast and about 14g golden cluster hops and it turned out very nice.

Put one of these down yesterday with 1kg LDME and 30g saaz hops with saflager w34/70 yeast.. Will let you know how it went in a month or so if I remember :P

If you dont have a grain mill an easy way to crack grain is to put it in a plastic bag or a tea towel and run a rolling pin over it. (you dont want to turn it into flour, just crack the grain open)

My understanding with using grain is you steep it in 70 degree water for about 20 minutes, strain out ...
