Went to the bottlo tonight and finally they had sierra navada pa. What else can I say but fantastic. In my opinion far better then lcpa. Got the stubbie yeast reculturing now Seriously a must try brew. But at $6.95 a stubbie definately not cheap. I enquired about a carton and got told '$75 per 12 pack!!!'
Hey cavanor, you surely must have called in at The Spotted Cow Mary Street Village bottle shop? Can't think of anywhere else you could get gear like that in Twba.
Haven't been there for a while thanks to their stocking a terrific range of English beers that are out of date! Overpriced as well, costing about twice as much as their German beer range, which somewhat strangely is well within use by dates.
Best bottlo west of Brisbane CBD, but they are adamant that their imported brews do not deteriorate with age. Pity, that!
sure did pacman, I go there regularly to try new brews, I havent had the problem of out of date brews as yet, but then again I probably havent checked the use by. I think over the 4 years ive been going there ive drunk probably 150+ different beers from there, ive kept the bottles and all It is a good beer though even if just for a try but given that their bottle shop is basically the same price as their bar lately ive tended to goto the bar to get the extra service etc.

Sounds like there's an area of Toowoomba that's a bit like the Bermuda Triangle, only instead of aircraft and ships going missing, the beer doesn't go off no matter how old it is, unlike elsewhere in the world
Agree cavanor, The Spotted Cow's Beer Cafe is tops.
Don't go there too frequently as I find it hard to drag myself away, and then there is the morning after! Getting too old for that.
Will e-mail you next time I am heading there (on a strict curfew imposed by "you know who").
Didn't realise my last purchase was mostly out of date until I was half way through the mixed dozen and wondered why they were somewhat dull and flat. Can't remember which bottle now, but it was the worst offender of the dozen, and a perusal of the back label revealed it was 9 months past its Best Before Date. Only applies to their English beers, so I suspect it is an importer/wholesaler issue.
The most annoying aspect was that I had been caught, even though I had discussed this issue with the management on more than one previous occasions. December last year and I was overcome with "goodwill to all men"! Will I get caught again? Probably!
Very good Oliver! I like that analogy, especially as Toowoomba is not far from some supposedly "two heads" communities. That's probably more than enough from me!
One correction - my comment re out of date English beers being "somewhat dull and flat". These beers were not flat as in lacking carbonation. They were flat in taste, i.e. dull!
Thought I'd better clarify that point. Still plenty of fizz, just not much life!
Ian Watson, Australia’s only Beer Sommelier, has a residence at Oropa EBC on weekends and at their off premise bottle shop at Mary and Bridge Sts during the week. Ian personally selected the 70 odd beers on the menu and has added his own tasting notes, food matches and “like beer†recommendations to help customers work their way through the beers.

Cheers Lebowski, that's just down the road.
Tried it for the first time last night at The Mustang Bar (About the only place I could take someone for a beer in Perth on a Sunday after 10:30PM).
Reminded me of the Matilda Bay Alpha Pale Ale I'd been drinking at the Captain Stirling the night before.

I bought a 6 pack of this for $US8.50 (approx. $A11.50). It was a top beer, nice and refreshing. But when I get back home I definitely would not fork out $7 for just 1 bottle of it.
