I found it tasty but I'd been waiting to find it for a while and It didn't live up to expectations. Just didn't seem to have the character that I expected. Give me a JSIPA any day

My favourite beer isn't one I would drink loads of, it's Schofferhoffer Hefeweizen, a german (who'd have guessed) wheat ale. My favourite "heavy drinking" beers are Coopers SA & PA, James Squires India Pale Ale and Little Creatures Pale Ale. This probably doesn't help much but there it is.

There are only a few commecial brews that I prefer over good HB. Schoferhoffer for one. JS IPA is probably another. Coopers Ales. Theres probably 10 all up, none of them particularly cheap so HB is the go for me. :D

Well the same tactic worked for crownies. Tastes pretty trashy but put it in a flash looking bottle and jack up the price and people are convinced its a superior brew.

I don't usually have a say in the drinking music, and the people I drink with arn't usually beer drinkers. However, I'd put my vote in for Powderfinger - the blues songs, not the rock.

Lagers for an Ale man.

I'm an ale man. I enjoy the odd lager now and then but a good lager never stands up against a good ale in my oppinion. Anyway, I can't afford to get a heat belt at the moment so I figure it's lager time.

My question is, what lager would you guys recommend to a guy who loves ales? What's the recipe ...

I figure that as long as it's a company that you guys (Oliver and Geoff) respect then it's no problem. I'd hate to see the site being "censored" or have strange rules introduced. However, if it was a good Australian beer/homebrew co. like Coopers ot Malt Shovel then I'd be all for it. I respect your ...

Went to an italian restaurant last week. Best beer they had was Cascade Premium. Had one and then stuck to water.

Very happy with my local pubs though. There's about 3 in all that I frequent and all 3 recently got Coopers on tap and my favourite one is soon to get Little Creatures Pale Ale on tap ...

I prefer big cool pints of Coopers Sparkling Ale at my local. I'll have to give Old a go, though I'm not sure if I like dark ale or not.

This is my favourite at the moment (the favourite that I can afford to have semi-regularly that is). I found it on tap last night for $5.50 per schooner. It tastes much better at home. I don't know whether tha glasses were dirty or what but it just didn't taste right.

Yeah. I was just at Coles and they had fairly similar prices. I guess the prices at my local HBS threw me off.

Coopers Kits at Big-W

I was looking in Big-W today and they had a display of Coopers Draught that said it was on special for under $10. I then wandered over to the homebrew section and all of the normal Coopers extracts (that usually sell for around $13 in my experience) were labeled at $9-something as a regular price ...

After some more sampling I reckon it's an okay drink. It's got a strange malty-sweet taste to it that's a little hard on the taste buds at first but it's quite nice once the flavour settles in. In partially related news I got a 6er of JS Golden Ale today and this stuff is very, very nice. It's ...

Picked up a 6er of this the other day. The first one tasted very strange though I'm quite sure it was simply my tastebuds screwing around on me. I proved this by having a Coopers PA and finding that didn't taste right either. Had another one the next day and was quite impressed. It's certainly got a ...

Cheers for the tip General, seems like that's what I'll be doing. Is racking it once enough to make a beer look like as clear as a commercial beer? How clear does it come out. So far all of mine (unracked) have come out far from transparent. Been getting shit from older relatives who reckon "someone ...
