Specific Gracity and Temperature.
I am just looking through my records and have just noticed that the brews with a higher start temp seem to have a slighlty higher SG.
Has anyone else noticed the same thing, done any testing on that? Or is it just coincedence.

Re: Woolworths/Coles beer products
I think that the better of Coles/Wollies is the Farmland brand. You need to remember one thing though. A lot of people will tell you a lot ofthings to do, however, you have to drink it. So try it, brew what you like, for yourself. I am just finishing Farmland Lager, (from Coles) brewed with a tin of ...

info about sugar.
A little while ago, I asked a question (on here) about what to use for sugaring. After all that discussion, I have experimented and found that; ultimately as suggested (on this forum), Malt extract is best. I have tried honey in one but it's not ready yet. Anyway, I just wanted to inform you all ...

Re: And so I try again.....newbie questions
I have some more questions.
Are you doubtful about the taste before, or after bottling?
Your bottles could be crap?
My wife has asked where are you, as in, what is the water quality like to start with?
Also you need to remember that Home brew is far different to commercial beer.
If you go to the pub ...

Re: And so I try again.....newbie questions
I am not an overly experienced brewer, only about 15-18 brews.
I don't wash my bottles, just a rinse instantly when finished drinking.
Don't sterelize my fermenter, only rinse it straight away with cold water, wipe with a clean cloth, then rinse with hot water from the tap.
Don't use an airlock ...

Flat Beer - Yeast ?
Can anybody tell if it my flat beer was caused by the yeat, or waiting too long to bottle, or both. Cascade uses a slow acting Bohemian Yeast.
I had a Cascade can in, that was still bubbling when I bottled it after 15 days. There were not a lot of bubbles coming through the ailock, but still some ...
