I have added a rasberry lemonade to my (long) list of brews to do. Was down the supermarket the other day and thought I'd do some market research.

So far there has only been mention of the frozen fruit. Can one use canned fruit??

I note that you can get about 500g of the frozen gear for $7-odd or ...

I put 100ml of Bi-Lo bleach in 4L of water. No dramas so far and heaps cheaper than the coopers or brewiser stuff you buy.

The smell does hang around even after a good rinse...

I've got the three-vessel system going;

My primary is a ridgey-didge coopers fermenter.

My secondary is a bunnings bucket ($15) with a screw-top lid (seal provided) and a bung-hole for a tap (which I had to buy separate). Also had to drill a hole in the top and shove a grommet and airlock in.

My ...

On the cost thing, she understands it's cheaper to produce, but she's not convinced I won't drink more.

Yeah good luck with that....

I went from about a carton of commercial a month to about a dozen largies a week when I started brewing and the missus was like

Think it's a ...

I did one with 1Kg DDME, 500g yellowbox honey and 50g Carafa III grain (steeped in coffee plunger 10 min). HBS guy said kit yeast was good so used that.

Was trying to make a honey porter. Tried one last weekend after 3 weeks in the bottle. Was still young and rough-ish but it's gonna be schweeet in ...

Nads

Dunno about best, but this comes from the HB&B homepage under the Q&A section. Haven't tried yet. I am going to put one down tomorrow.

Try this for a good Pilsner. It's hoppy and malty. Delicious.
INGREDIENTS
1 can Cooper's Pilsner
1.2kg light dried or liquid malt
40g Saaz hop pellets ...

Are y'all making full 22-23 L brews out of this??

If I want to try this but don't want to chuck out 28 bottles of crap if I don't like it can I just do a test brew of say 10L and use half of everything??

Does this question fall into the "Well duh!" category?

I am reading this while drinking a fairly basic spicy dark ale, which was made from a Coopers dark Ale kit, 1 Kg LDM and 2 tsp cinnamon. I am thinking that some honey would balance out the natural ale bitterness and the spice from the cinamon. But I am thinking a "heavier" honey. Would you rate ...

Krusty, I had the tip fall off the end of my filler tube last weekend as well. Didn't mind the mess but losing the beer gave me the shits. Reckon I stood there for about 3-4 seconds like a stunned mullet with my mouth open just watching beer go everywhere. Then I though "I think I need to turn the ...

Wassa

there's a thread here somewhere about what's in the various blends etc. from the notes I took at the time of reading that thread I think #20 contains 500g LDM, 250g Maltodex & 250g Dex.

I have a receipe for budweiser in my 'brews to do' book that I think I got from the brewcraft website that ...

Howdy jd

I'm hearin ya....I went through the same thing.

My advice (FWIW) is to pick a style you like and do a search. There's heaps of info and recipes here. Pick something simple at first. Nothing wrong with Coopers but cane sugar is out now. Try a Coopers Bitter with BE2. that seems to be one ...
