MSB Wheat Beer, sour...

Post by kfarrell »

Here's my story.

Two can MaltShovel Wheat Beer.

I've been mucking around fermenting in a fridge with a timer, first night I accidently left the fridge on overnight, it went to about 8C, so I let it warm up, and it started fermenting. I've been keeping it around 18C, (It got to 15C at one stage.

Now it's been 5 days in the primary, I've never had a wheat beer before, but the wort tastes foul. By foul I mean sour, with a tingly aftertaste (metalic maybe?)

Now I don't know if this is right, I'm keeping with it, because of the slow start it's going to stay in the primary another week.

I've never had an infection, but does it sound like I might?

It could all be normal for a wheat beer for all I know.

I hope someone can shed some light on this for me.
