Dark Malt in a Larger

Post by Gym_ »

I put down one about 9 days ago should be interesting to see how it goes was just a experiment to see how it tastes..
2 cooper’s larger
1kg dark dry malt
500g Dex
500g white sugar
40 liters of water
It’s almost ready for the keg,
So far it’s very dark ..
I might run 1 keg of it though my 1 micron filter and leave the other one the way it is .. either way it won’t be ready for another few months yet so we shall see how it goes .. Should be interesting ..
Anyone ells try anything similar?
Good / Bad?

Cool that dose sound interesting,

The old monks liked there rocket fuel too LOL
(17th century. Alcohol content ranges from 6.3% to 7.2% by volume) Classic !!!

Well this should be interesting have to let this one sit in the keg for another month and give it a try.

Thanks for that link Keg that was interesting reading I’ve never heard of Bock before.
Cheers 8)

Dunkel?...Bock?...either way, it should turn out nice.
You should get enough bitterness, but if the hop flavours are a bit short, next time try boiling the Dark extract in a few litres of water with 20g of Hallertau pellets for 20-30 mins and add that to the fermenter...

Cheers,
TL
