Jack, why are you locking threads?

Post by The Carbonator »

Jack, why the hell would you lock a thread?

The threads are still there for everyone to read, but we cant respond to it :!:

Whats the point of that? You might as well just delete them......

Just because you have had enough of one thread, doesnt mean everyone has.
In the "all quiet on the beer front" you played a massive part in the deteriation of that one, then when you have said your peice, you lock it so no-one can respond.

That pisses me off!!!!!!!

People are going to disagree. Deal with it!
Plus, its funny.

This is not your own private forum, to throw in your comments, and then lock em down so no-one else can add their's.

I can understand how a moderater is needed, and its probably a thankless job, but the less you do the better.

In my opinion, moderaters are there to delete death threats and unprovoked insults.
Not to censor and mold discussions to their own way of thinking.

This is only gonna drive off more brewers to other forums.

So, to wrap up, just stop it.

Its funny you should say that...Im assuming you have read what was put in there...you dont think this was unprevoked at all?....I didnt even know this bloke & he decides he wants to come on here, throw insults & ridiculous accusations at me for no apparent reason then leave...its not just here that it was happening & it wasnt just me it was aimed at.
If there was an issue with it, Im sure Oliver would have stepped in & spoken to me about it...also there was no reason for anyone to respond to it as there was no useful posts being made on that topic.
Yes it is a thankless job which seems to be the only thing Im getting even before I had started being a Mod....I have left threads alone for the majority as I dont feel theres any reason to worry about it but personal attacks on me for no apparent reason was not appreciated or necessary mate.
If it were Oliver locking them down, there wouldnt be an issue with it.

I like you Carbs
I totally agree with you. Locking down that thread after childish boy Chris (the troll who likes call others trolls) spat the dummy was pointless.

Dogger is still here, just not posting much.

I come here twice a day and accept the punishment.

If you ever need anything specific post it here in the General Discussion or send me an E-Mail, I will try and answer it.

I was asked to go away for a while :( :( :( :( ,

so I did, I still listen in though    .

Still Brewing strong, just got two new corny kegs and a great deal on grains.

Need to figure out some bees I think.

Why would a man of your experience and intelligence be asked to go away for awhile?

Sounds to me like 1 person got their nose out of joint (not Dogger) and wants all his friends to support him in his hissy fit.

If I'm wrong so beit, but I've seen nothing to suggest otherwise.

We are all adults here, with the same interest, beer. Just get on with it and get over it.

Apparently I am a troll. 262 posts about beer proves THAT beyond any doubt...

Hashie, this is exactly what I've been thinking, you've hit the nail on the head. It just seems stupid, because of one thread that could easily have been ignored, a bunch of people nick off to another site. The term "circle-jerk" comes to mind. :-)

You mean I'm not allowed to be a member of 2 different forums at once? That means I'm going to have to choose between, here, there, Whirlpool and EVE-Online!!!

I don't think anyone said that. At least, I hope not, because then I'd have to choose between here or the You Am I forums
