I've taken two readings and they have both shown 1000, this seems a little to low to me?
Also I have had a little sample of the gb and I can taste the ginger but it's not as strong as I thought it would be.

Re: coopers gingerbeer sugar help
ok just an update and a question.
I've put the gb down and it's been bubbling away nicely.
my question is
it has now been 13 days since I started fermintation and it's still bubbling( my temp 21-22), do I leave it until it stops
or should I look at bottling soon.
and is it worth taking a reading ...

Re: my beer has more bubbles then coke.
I could be wrong about the 1050 my hydrometer is hard to read, I've been meaning to get a new one.
I do remember when I put the brew down the weather was really iffy, really hot days with cold nights.
I opened another bottle last night but this time I cracked the top and let it sit in the fridge for ...

Re: my beer has more bubbles then coke.
Lachy
I had the feeling I might of bottled it a bit early or it got contaminated, but the bubbling had stopped and I checked the SG over 3 consecutive days and it remained the same so i thought it was ready to bottle.
the SG readings was
Before adding yeast 1050
before bottling 1012
The question I ...

Re: my beer has more bubbles then coke.
yeah did as the Can suggested and added 2 drops per large bottle( plastic bottles).
No explosions yet.
I can get 2 bottles for one glass of beer.
I even tried opening the bottles and waiting a bit to see if the bubbles die down before pouring,
but the beer goes warm before the bubbles stop.

Re: my beer has more bubbles then coke.
it's crazy how bubbly it is, my first brew was fine but it was a simple coopers lager using brewing sugar.
the mexican tastes ok , but the bubbles overpower it.

my beer has more bubbles then coke.
ok
I put down my second brew about 3 months ago, it was the coopers mexican can.
I thought I'd try A coopers brew enhancer as well just to see if it made a difference.
Well I tried a bottle today and it has that much bubbles that i get about 95% head when I pour it into a glass.

Re: ginger beer?
could you use the cooper's GB kit with this recipe?
I just ask because I have this kit and from what I've read it's not good.
And I'm keen to get rid of it.
cheers

newbie question( bubbling)
hi guys
I put my first brew down 4 days ago (coopers kit) and it has been bubbling away nicely until now.
now it only bubbles every so often, yesterday it was roughly bubbling every 2 seconds.
Is this normal?
I have my temp at 21 degree's if that helps.
cheers
luke
