Ziplock Pouches

Post by homebrewer79 »

I am going to get a few from Craftbrewer and was just wondering if I grabbed the large ones would it be wise to store different hops in the same bag? or should I wait till Ross gets the smaller one in and stick with those. I only ever have 2 90g bags of each hop I use a any given time

If you keep your hops in the original foil pouches they came in, and put the foil pouches in the ziplock bag, then no problems.
If you intend to just dump them all in the one ziplock bag so they mix, then it's not a good idea.

My stock of 14 different hops at present totals almost 2 kg, and I have them in the original pouches, in 4 ziplock bags. All good.

And, please store them in your freezer.

Good stuff, I will be keeping them in the original foil pack to avoid some mutant hop monster  , at the moment i'm just using a large lunchbox type tupperware container with a metal clip to seal them up in the freezer to keep my hops, but I'm looking to improve on the method of storage because some of the hops I have I don't use for a good 3 or 4 months
