Flat Beer
Hi all,I'm new to this forum so hello! My question is this,i've just brewed a Lager and it is a very nice beer indeed but i put some bottles straight in the fridge after bottling and they are FLAT all the other bottles in the cupboard are fine.Have i stuffed up bigtime or will they come good?Cheers.

Re: Flat Beer
Welcome cococat. Just take them out of the fridge and leave them at room temp for a couple weeks. They will be fine.
Re: Flat Beer
The ones that you put in the fridge would of probably been too cold for the yeast to work. What temp is the fridge at and what yeast did you use.
If you have anymore in the fridge pull them out and give them a couple of weeks in the cupboard and they should come good.

Re: Flat Beer
Thanks for the info guys but i always thought that if you let cold beer get hot and then put it back in the fridge it tasted awful???But i'll try it because it tastes great and too good to waste.
Re: Flat Beer
Don't get it hot, just back up to fermenting temps. What ever temperature you fermented the beer at, is the same temperature the yeast will work at to carb up your bottles.
Re: Flat Beer
It's true that fluctuating temps are bad for beer, however homebrew is more resistant to that effect because it contains live yeast which provide added stability.
w00t!
