What is draught?

Post by earle »

Been looking for information on what style draught is. Given that draught beer is straight from the cask, what are draught beer kits e.g. cascade or coopers supposed to be?

Thanks for the replies. A lot of the discussion in the links about draught being the way the beer is served which is what I already knew. A few responses suggesting that draught as a style is usually a lager (usually supplied with an ale yeast so use saflager - good tip).

What would the difference between coopers lager and coopers draught (lager?) be then? Same style of beer, made to taste like it came out of a tap at the pub?

So what about Cascade Draught kit which reckons it's wheat inspired? Lager or wheat beer?
