Staining the fermenter?

Post by Emo »

I'm thinking of brewing some rasberry flavoured alcoholic lemonde but was wondering if the crushed rasberries will stain the fermenter?

Does anyone have any experiences on this?

I have done a rassberry beer with (i think) 1.5kg of berries and it was fine, most of the colour ferments out into the brew and when you rack off the berries it just rinses out ( was alot of mess in there but easy to clean), you deffinately wont stain the fermenter if you clean it as soon as its empty

Thanks for the info. I've found a source of lemons andthought that I'd give it a try when the fermenter is free.

And if you ever do get stains, a 24 hour bleach soak will get them right out. I wouldn't expect you to get any from that though.
