I have done a rassberry beer with (i think) 1.5kg of berries and it was fine, most of the colour ferments out into the brew and when you rack off the berries it just rinses out ( was alot of mess in there but easy to clean), you deffinately wont stain the fermenter if you clean it as soon as its empty
