Great Intercontinental Pub Crawl 2005

Post by Pyssedas Heavy Industrial »

Hi Everyone - in the hope of fostering a greater sense of world togetherness the Pyssedas gang are proud to announce "The Great Intercontinental Pub Crawl 2005" - in short we hope to have people having a beer on every continent on earth [maybe we will stretch our wings further in 2006!] on the 28th May.

Ever excited by the prospect of making t-shirts - we also hope to have a t-shirt together for this exciting even listing on the back all of the pubs in all of the cities where people will be crawling. [We are not seeking to make any money out of this - once it is done the design can be sent to participants who can organise the cheapest printing in their own area.

To begin with we have 4 cities on board in Australia and Canada but hopefully this will quickly grow - so why not grab a couple of mates and have a couple of beers for no good reason at all. You never know who from the forum you might run into!

Check out the Pub Crawl Page at: http://www.geocities.com/pyssedas/crawl_2005.html

to see which cities are on-board already and follow the instructions there to get involved

or go through the front page at: http://www.geocities.com/pyssedas/index.html

We are of course happy to answer questions here too!

sounds like a bloody top idea!!

My garage has become an unofficial pub, well it is where my beer fridge and keg fridge live, does that count?

If not i'll cruise down to the local for a couple of pints :!:

Grabman - Provided you have a cool name for your garage like "The Pig & Turnip" or something then it most certainly counts - I do quite like the idea of having

Perth - Grabman's Garage

on the t-shirt - but a real pub [or two] is probably even better

let us know if this means that we can add Perth to our list of cities undertaking the crawl

Oliver - should you find yourself with too much time on your hands you are welcome to come to one of the crawl planning meetings [currently monthly] which are yet another excuse that we give to our wives/girlfriends/pets as to why we have to drink so much

I think truely a worthy cause,

It saves no one or thing, it isn't asking for money and will cost no one any time doing anything they don't really want to do.

Truely a cause worth picking up, will insult no one, except the wine drinkers, but they spit anyway.

You can (but why would you???) have a pub crawl with a wine (or two...) at each pub.

yes i can only presume that sydney are just not drinkers - it looks like we will have every other captial city [and some others] in the country on board before them...

[let me know if you need to be stirred up more than this guys]

PHI - I'm determined to get one of my 'spots' to adopt this brilliant idea (not that a reason to imbibe is required but ........ ), but anyway, the t-shirt idea - ?????? a map of the world on the front, or just the continent?

You see, I'm a rather wisened little bloke and don't carry much advertising space. If you see what I mean.
EVERYTHING is worth my interest!

okay here's the list for Perth then:

start out at "Simon's Bar and Grill" (Grabman's Garage) with a few pints of Old Simon, my Tooheys Old clone

Then move on the The Paddington Ale House to attacke their list of 101 International beers.

I will be accompanied by about 5 guys from work!

Anyone else in Perth want to join us :?:

a general response

Post by Pyssedas Heavy Industrial »

ok guys one by one on this one

oliver - i was thinking the sherlock holmes on collins st on thursday simply cos it is close to my work - but am happy to negotiate on this one - let us know what is good for you

rain - i am noted for being far too skinny for my age son - as a country vic boy by birth i would be most honoured to have mildura on board [am bendigo myself] t-shirt design will be worked out at drunken meetings [see above] over the next few months - was thinking the names of all pubs to be drunk at on the back of shirt - and depending on how many cities - a world map with highlighed drinking cities on them [if that makes sense] am half tempted to contact guiness book of records on this one - people are popping up everywhere

grabman - dude you win the most organised region award - i will post a rough outline of your scheme on the web tomorrow unless you say you don't want me to [as a married man i live in fear of higher forces...]

Just to answer the small thing,

It is a small world, everyone keeps sying it.

(Maybe I should just drink the beer and shutup I seem to have difficulty concentrating today)

DGr,

Might have to give it a miss. I'm working late on Thursday. Won't finish until 9pm or so. Bugger.

But keep me posted on future crawl planning meetings.

Cheers,

update

Post by Pyssedas Heavy Industrial »

Greetings friends, associates and vetebrates all!

A quick update on how things are progressing for the Great Intercontinental pub crawl - as ever more details can be found at:
http://www.geocities.com/pyssedas/crawl_2005.html

We now have at least 16 cities on 4 continents committed - hopefully yours is one - anyone with drinking buddies in Africa, South America or Antartica please let them know about this fabulous event.

We only have a couple of European cities on board at the moment - I'm sure they can do better! Similarly we are missing a couple of Australian capital cities - any help on these would be great

Cities who are participating are starting to finalise their venues - if you can give us a list of these when they are ready we can then add them to the t-shirt design

Also please let us know how to contact you when you message us - we would like to be able to keep in touch as the big day approaches there are some cities who say they are in - but we can't count them until we know who you are

Apologies for not communicating for a while - the real world has been occupying us a little on late - will try to keep these updates coming
