Irish Stout yeast

Post by ahsaul »

Hi all,

Just a quick one...
I used White Labs WLP004 (Irish Ale) liquid yeast in my last stout, and have kept the Coopers yeast that came with the kit Irish Stout kit...

Is this just a standard ale yeast, or one specific for the stout as it is stamped "IS" on the packet...

Cheers!!!! :)

It is a yeast specially selected/blended by Coopers for the Irish Stout. Unfortunatley I have little more detail than that.

There is a sticky at the top of this forum relating to Coopers Kit Yeasts.

Cheers,

To the best of my knowledge, it is a lager/ale mix.

They hold their cards close to their chest when trying to get yeast info out of them.
