THE LOSS OF A FAVORITE PET.

Post by haggmaster »

today i said goodbye to an old drinking buddy, LADY.
my old dog(bitch) a collie, shepard cross. the most beautiful family pet of 14 years had to be put to slleep today.
when we got her from the s.p.c.a. she was unwanted.
she has cared for our family unconditionally all these years as we , my wife and i , and my 2 children , have grown. we are devestated.
nothing can express the grief i feel as i write this.
i will put her to rest tomorrow.
often, when we drink our brews, whether on our own , or with our friends , our pets are there , always there.sharing our times, you know what i m talking about.
if you have lost a companion, a pet. share your thoughts.
i feel a bit better already.(for a moment) LOVE YOU LADY.

My heart goes out to you and your family. I have a little drinking buddy. He's a 4 year old Pug called Waldo. He's my mate. Follows me around the house like a shadow.

All I can say is that it was better you had your mate for all those years and lost him, than to have never had him at all.

Sympathies - Haggmaster.

My best mate Diesel is a mastiff/great dane/wolfhound cross. He is just a beautiful gentle creature. He is sick at present - cant get rid of a abcsyss on his back. That makes me sad enough. I feel for you and your family especially the kids who, having grown up with an animal suddenly lose their mate. It is often a kids first experience of losing someonoe close to them. The big D and I will share a beer tonight in memory of LADY. (he loves a slurp or two)

Condolences mate, I fear it is a choice we are going to have to make very soon, I have a dachsund named jake, he has been with me and the missus through thick and thin. Always cheerful and happy. Sadly we found out last week he has cancer, he is only 8 years of age. We can expect to have about three more months with him before he starts to deteriorate. It will be the hardest decision I have ever made.

You end up loving them like they are human........... :(

we have had him since he was six weeks old.
Politicians and Diapers need to be changed regularly for the very same reason!!!

Diesel is slowly coming good. Bloody expensive these vets - should have studied when I was young!!!

I found the big dill with some sticky stuff all over his face the other day. LDME. He has taken a fancy to all things malt. It was everywhere - laughed like a hyena and left him to lick himself silly. Must learn to put things away.
