Coopers Bulk Extract

My HBS is now offering Coopers Extract in 28kg tubs for $110.

The label reads that it's genuine Coopers and good for a year.

When i asked about the possibility of mould, the extract going off etc, I was advised to, throw some Sodium Met on the surface.

Things that make you go Hmm.........

Just do one massive brew and spend the next 12 months drinking.

DO NOT THROUGH SODIUM MET ON IT!!!!!!!!!!What clown said to do that?

Water activity is low enough nothing will happen. I buy 30 litres malt extract at a go to no issues. The real trick is getting it out

I saw this bulk extract and immediately thought that getting it out in sensible quantities would be a chore so gave up.

But Dogger, how do you manage? maybe it's worthwhile thinking about again if you have any handling tips.

You'd need to use storage with a special tap similar to the honey wholesalers. They call it a honeygate.

Mine comes with a nice big tap on it. It scrape the end results and then rinse with water and use that for starters
