Cheers for the info, you're certainly a prolific bunch!
I was considering resorting to some dextrose padding but that unhopped pilsner malt looks the trick.
If only I had the space and time for a quality AG system.

For those of you trawling the archives, I have since discovered that coopers still sells 28kg pale of EXTRA Light Malt Extract you just have to ask your LHBS to get it in for you.

Just to avoid confusion, that is a 28 kg pail, also know as a bucket, of EXTRA Light Malt Extract.holedigger wrote:For those of you trawling the archives, I have since discovered that coopers still sells 28kg pale of EXTRA Light Malt Extract you just have to ask your LHBS to get it in for you.

Re: Pilsner or Pale Malt Extract????
Hey guys,
Been lurking on this thread, and the bulk liquid extracts look like the go, if they are "fresh". Might get my local bloke to try and source them and put the hard word on him about the price (Might also point out that 5kg of LDME from him for $40 is too steep the man is way out of the game!)
Does any one have any suggestions on the best way to store and dispense this stuff? (I think I read that the pails don't have a tap). Obviously it needs to be clean, food grade and as sanitary as possible, i was thinking about one of those 20l jerry cans (I have one I have used for secondary fermentation in the past). How well is liquid extract going to flow through the tap?
