Cider help

Post by adz2332 »

Well ive attempted my first cider last night....

Just a couple quickies....

I keep the temp making and sealed to around 17 degs...
The next morning its slightly risen 10 18 -19 degs...
But its not bubbling out of the air lock at all!? is this ok? Or is something wrong???
As the beers ive made the next morning they have been popping and bubbling away happily. Yet this hasnt....
To early to worry??

Cheers

Much too early to be worrying. Out of interest, did you make this from a kit, or just pitch yeast into a fermenter full of juice?

Then you, sir, have some fermentation activity.

The air-lock isn't a scientific piece of equipment, your hydrometer is. Don't get too caught up on what your air-lock is doing ever. Things like condensation, krausen and hydrometer readings dropping are the only ways to tell whether or not you've got any activity.

What was the OG, by the way?
