Opinions please! Have i killed it

Post by hyjak »

Just got home form work and opened my 'fish' room where my fermenters live when brewing ales, checked them both and saw that one was sitting on 30c. :x :x
Seems i have left the heater belt on all day!!! Damn my forgetfullness!!!!
This brew has safale us-05 yeast, question is will i have imparted some funky tastes to my brew????
Has been brewing for 7days now.

You likely will be fortunate, and get away with this.

US05 tends to be pretty quick once it kicks off, and I suspect the fermentation will be all but over in 7 days.
It would be into the cleaning up after itself phase by now.
If so, you wouldn't be generating and fusels or other unwanted by products.

So, relax, let your brew sit for another week to clean up and drop clear, and you'll be fine to bottle/keg.

Sweet!!
I was thinking that might be the case but only relatively new at this game and thought i'd seek some advice.
Yes havn't noticed any movement in air lock for last couple days, so should be right.
Thanks warra.

What I will say to you Hyjak, is that you should ferment the same brew at 18 degrees and see the difference between the two for yourself.

Bizier i realise its not going to be as good as it should be!
i just wanted to know whether i should expect vomit material or just marginal beer.
spewing i did this as it was a variation of a brew i had made that i quite liked. was hoping to see an improvement from different yeast, crystal addition and more malt.
now i'll have to make it again!!!
such a pity!!!! :P :D
