Just brewed my 2nd All Grain on the weekend. (first one was a robust porter, which is so far my best beer ever made).
Posted some pics' on the other forum.
The day went pretty well, and it's great fun going AG! But geez, the cleaning up afterwards is an ongoing job.

If find holding off the first beer until the boil is underway helps heapspetesbrew wrote:it's great fun going AG! But geez, the cleaning up afterwards is an ongoing job.

Re: Brugge Pale Ale
Funnily enough I was sober while brewing this one. Something to do with mashing in at 7am.
I'm not really a breakfast beer guy, but you'd think I was from the mess I made.

Re: Brugge Pale Ale
This one came third in the NSW State Homebrew Comp. Scored 108.5/150.
I'm cheering!
I must frame that 3rd place certificate for the brewery wall.
I have a case worth left, which I'm trying to cellar... but it's hard not to have one.

Re: Brugge Pale Ale
Top stuff, and well done.
I'm sure it's a nice feeling to have your beer recognised, and to know that it's all your own work when you enjoy them.

Cheers Warra
Big thanks to fellow brewers who gave me input.... mainly to go liquid yeast instead of dry.

Re: Brugge Pale Ale
Congrats Pete, and it was your second AG , and it was a Belgian...
Ive been looking at the Comp. results on AHB, been some awesome beers being brewed. Pity the beer judges.
Great to see Australian home brewing coming along in leaps and bounds.

Re: Brugge Pale Ale
Cheers Tazman,
Next AG up is a Saison. Planning on my AG's being mainly big, exciting beers, seeing as I'll only be doing a few AG's a year, due to time.
Just have to stock up on hops, measure out grain, get it cracked, then book in a brewday on the calendar with SWMBO.

Re: Brugge Pale Ale
Its a shame you only get to brew a few times a year... Especially if you are getting success in home brew comps
I havent bothered to put my beer in any Comps yet... i dont think i could bear the criticism/failure....

I freely admit that I was Very Very Drunk....

Re: Brugge Pale Ale
Ah, at least there's KnK's... I can brew as many of these suckers, as they only take 10min to whack together.
