Someone kick me

Post by Old Gil »

Made a batch last night, all was gonig well, had a few beers during the process, was ready to put the kit in the boil pot, sat the kit on the bench next to the sink to open it and bang, the bloody thing fell in the sink. I lost about a third of the kit :x It was going to be a 22ltr batch but i had to wing it and just made to 18ltrs. OG was 1044 which was in the ball park so hopefully i still end up with a decent drop. Man, i'm still kicking myself

I have done similar things, though I am usually more concerned that my wife will find out than I am with the quality of the beer
Prost and happy brewing!

I think i might limit myself to only a couple of beers whilst brewing, ha, who am i kidding thats never gonna happen 8) . I couldn't cover the mess up cause the boss was standing nearby and she looked straight at it when i yelled "f**k me bloody dead". I should have thought quicker and just shut up and suffered in silence.

I've been forced to brew outside now on the BBQ burner cos i have a bad habit of brewing, then going out and locking the house up and all the lovely hop aromas that my G/F absolutely hates. It has its upsides, the BBQ is right next to the beer fridge, and therefore she cannot keep count of how many beers i've had. HA....

it is much, much worse when the overflow gets to the point that syrup gets under the burners, onto the TOP of the grill burner. NO amount of cleaning gets rid of it all.

every time the grill is used, the house smells like burnt sugar. I just avoid using the grill, and if my flatmate uses it, i tell him he's burnt the sausages
