Sulphur Smell from Fermentor

Post by remik »

Hi guys,

My Brewcraft Asahi kit (Saflager S-23) has been bubbling away for 4 days or so now- got a nice foamy top going by about 48hrs. Temps have been kept at 12-14C in the laundry tub. Today, I noticed a sulphur-like smell in the laundry, which is coming from under the lid of the fermentor. Not having brewed a lager before, I'm not sure if might be an expected smell or could it be an infection (which would be a first)? I had a quick taste, and as expected the wort is still very sweet. Appreciate any opinions...

Thanks for the tips- not having used lager yeast before I was getting a bit worried, happy to know that all is on track...
