Im in Melbourne on a holiday at mo at the sisters - just about to walk to the beach get me a 6'er and come back and do the same till the girlfriend gets back and we have to go to dinner (she can drive

Only thing that can beat that is to wake up early and go fishing, come back and screw wife or girlfriend, have breakfast and then sit down with beer and watch cricket for the day.

Don't forget Mr. Cricket! Another great century... and still going! I don't think these blokes need any 'firing up' they have been fair flogging the poor Sri Lankans... actually does not make for that exciting of a game, I of course want AU to win, but a bit of a fight would be welcomed!

India should have a better show to put on I hope, though it really is pretty hard for anyone in the world to compete with Australia on their own pitches.

Back to back debut centuries? Sense make not much of. He isn't on debut and his 2nd century can't be a debut century. Been enjyoing a few too many beers there Chris. Lucky bastard. I had to work all bloody day.

Kev, I was referring to you playing for the Sri Lankans- see earlier posts.

IH, this is his second batting inning. As there are two batting inning per test match (unless you are playing against the Aussies...) then I consider this to be a continuation of his debut. One of the other commentators also mentioned this point, but I can't remember which one. You'd know if you'd been able to watch it

And unfortunately, my last keg ran dry unexpectedly- I only got about 300mL of beer today

4th? Why do they keep saying debut for the last one? Were the other two for Australia A or something?

His debut was Boxing day of '05 against South Africa after Langer was ruled out due to injury. He scored 2 runs in his first innings and a further 28 in the second. He was selected again in '06 to play against Bangladesh but only came up with 66 in that match. Brisbane was his third test match which came nearly 2 yeasr after his real debut. He did however play for a part of the VB series in '05-'06 when Katich went out injured, he scored a 94 in his debut match which is a record for an Australian in their debut ODI match.

Maybe they were calling it his debut because it was the first time he was genuinely picked to be part of the squad? Before that he had only been selected to fill in for injured players. I do think he has earned himself a place as opening batsman for Australia for the time being though

It's all about the terminology. Debut century means it's the batsmen first century. When they score a century in their first match it is referred to as "Century on debut".
