Post by Brewaholic »

Hey guys thinking of doing a brew similar to a Jamison rasberry ale
next but not a clone really i was thinking of doing

2 tins of Morgans golden saaz pilsner
1 kg ldme or 1.5 lme
1 kg dex
3 kgs steeped and mashed rasberrys into primary
Dry hop 30-40g nelson sauvin or more saaz in secondary
Make up to 50ltrs.

What do you think? Didnt want it too malty hence the dex but i am no expert either!

I was wrong. Spotted this morning in Woolworths 120 gram punnets at $8.97 each. 25 punnets needed for 3kg, cost $224.25.

They have been blanched though, would that have any effect on the final brew?

See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blanching
Blanching neutralizes bacteria and enzymes present in foods
Prost and happy brewing!

Taste damn fine in my raspberry cyser! Also, being frozen they turn to mush when they thaw out, a bit more effort with a potato masher and its game on. I have read that people suggest freezing fresh berries you intend on brewing with.....
