Allergic reaction

Just tasted the first bottle of my second brew the other day and within hrs broke out in a rash all over my body. Just wondering if anyone else has ever heard or known of this happening. The brew was a blackrock east india pale ale,1kg brewblend#15 andSafale s-04 yeast.The only other brew was a brewcraft Munich Lager with brewblend #15 and kit yeast which didn't cause any reaction.
Any suggestions on this would be appreciated .

What sanitiser did you use?
Did you decant to a glass, or drink from the bottle?

Were you eating drinking anything else at the time that may have also caused the reaction?

I know someone who doesnt drink beer because it gives him a headache... HAHA

But as for allergic reactions, If you can think of anything that you did differently to other brewing you have done. Maybe the sterilizer, maybe additives in the beer... I have a mate who cant eat any food with colour 121 (yellow) in it... Strange...

If you arent allergic to commercial beer, just the beer you've made, you should be able to narrow down the cause... Trial and Error..

Go to the docs and get an allergy test done, they may be able to narrow it down for you

the sanitiser I use is the brewshield hydrogen peroxide, I poured to a glass which didn't look to have any sediment in it. I have never had a reaction like this to commercial beers and am very curious as to what the cause may be.

I thought of the yeast as the cause but what is the difference to commercial beers CPA also has no effects

Might be a strain-specific thing, I suppose.

What else did you consume along with the beer?

Im sure you will learn to live with the rash

I have an allergic reaction to beer, when i spend too much time in the shed i just cant seem to walk and talk properly

Any one else have this problem?

My wife has an allergy to alcohol ONLY when mixed with products containing MSG. ie. Chinese and a glass of anything alcoholic is out of the question.

Starts of with a rash but then gets much worse, in fact her 18th she was rushed to emergency and now we carry antihistamines with us.
Is saying that though she still enjoys a drink, just need to watch what she has eaten.

On the plus side at least my beer is left for me....and I get driven home when out.
