Hahaha, gladwrap, rooting, infections.....hmmmmm.

Yep I thought as much also, I mean providing I still have fermentation happening any Oxygen sucked in should be dealt with.

Hey another (off topic) thing I was thinking of -

I've seen Carboys used to brew and compressed C02 used to transfer liquid from one vessel to another via pressure. I understand that most plastic fermentors will not withstand high pressure but say you fitted an air line via a proper fitting why could you not say flush any Oxygen from a racking vessel? This would help to avoid any Oxygen being left in vessel if fermentation was too far along. Just an idea...

With the correct lines it could also be used to transfer liquid from one vessel to another.

Since CO2 is heavier than air, any air in the fermenter should be pushed out by the CO2 from the primary ferment - I was assuming that you wanted to move the fermenter to get it ready for racking or kegging...

I rack from keg to keg under CO2 pressure all the time - it's standard but not absolutely necessary procedure for keggers....

Lovely stuff - can be used for anything but I particularly like to use it to flavour my APA's - I bitter them with Chinook and add some Cascade at flameout for aroma.
