very old bottle of brandy

Post by Sathias »

My dad was going through his spirits cabinet the other day and found some very old bottles of brandy, one of which he gave to me. Its an unopened bottle of "Continental Cherry Brandy", and it is old enough that it has no listing of the amount of alcohol contained, and the volume is measured as "Net 1 pint, 6 fl oz".

Any rough idea how old it could be (when was mandatory alcohol % printing brought in?) and would it still be drinkable?

probably depends a lot on where it was sold.. was it purchased in australia, or brought over after purchase? does your dad have any clue as to its' age?

Must be a shocker if no-one wants to drink it

Kidding, dunno about that one. Have you tried the net?

Is Continental the brand name?

Cheers
