First brew - need help

Post by Allnewtome »

Hi all, I started my first brew yesterday, Its a Coopers Lager. I have had no activity in my airlock but have had some condensation on the lid. I opened the lid and found a lot of the yeast was sitting on top of the wort so I gave it a stir to mix it in, was that a bad thing to do?The temperature is sitting at about 22 - 23 degrees. Should I just leave it alone and see what happens?

Er, please don't cross-post. I answered this in the sticky.

Yeah seems to be working, I have sediment on the bottom and plenty of condensation on the lid, just no bubbling in the airlock. Cross posting is posting the same question in more than one section.

Cheers.

yer lid may not be airtight, it may be leaking from other place thn airlock, dont worry, let it be, might want too read about airlocks, most people dnt use them anyway

i have found that when inserting airlock after i drip a lil water around the top to just give it that extra touch maybe im OCD, but it works for me

Funny reading his posts. I must say though that the "maybe your nose is blocked" quote was pretty good.
