Red Creaming Soda

Post by erik »

Hey All,

I've had a request to make alcoholic red creaming soda. Does anyone have any ideas? I know it's a girly drink but, I've just started negotiations about a keg system...

Cheers

How about:

1kg of dextrose
1kg Rasberries
500gm honey

Make up to 22 litres and toss say a champagne yeast?

Not really sure at all, I'll throw a few ideas out there.

Very tricky, as the red will probably have fermentables in it and will change flavour as it ferments out.

Best chance I can think of is to tip two bottles of voddy, a bottle of sweet red flavouring into a keg and top up with water. Gas and enjoy! Boozy red fizzy drink. If you have access to a still you could brew and distill your own neutral spirit for the HB aspect.

Also possibly try about 500gm LDME with 2.5Kg of Dextrose and juice from 2 lemons. Use the cleanest most neutral yeast you can find. Brew a kind of alco soda thingee, then add a flavouring when you consume.

A fair bit of trial and error will be needed.

Best of luck, let us know what is/isn't a success.

Cheers,
Greg

If you are pressured for time to come up with this alcoholic drink try,

1-2 bottle of COTTEE'S fruits of the forest crush cordial.

1-2 bottles vodka.

19 litres water then gas, enjoy.

Creaming soda is flavoured by chemicals, the only natural thing in there is the water, and maybe the overload of sugar.

By a vanilla essence from the supermarket and make up something like an alcoholic soda water (dex, water and yeast/nutrient plus some lactose) then add essence and bottle as per normal.

I go for the creaming soda mixed with vodka trick myself. You get what you want.

Cheers Guys,
Will let you know how I go. Just gotta wait for a fermenter to be free, then after the Dopplebock - I'll start experimenting.
