Good Bottle Shops
Good Bottle Shops
I'm having trouble finding a decent bottle shop that has a really good selection of local and imported beers (in Melbourne)
I have Dan Murphys, Liquorland and Safeway nearby at Glen Waverly. But i'm not really happy with selection you get there. My mate in Croydon has a independent bottle shop selling lots of local small micro brews like Jamieson's, Hargrave's Hill (Yarra Valley), Buckleys ... etc. That's what I'm after.
What's your favourite bottle shop and why?

In Ontario we only have two. The Beer Store (where the beers are) and the Liquor Store although you can get beer at both you can only get liquor at the one. You figure it out.

Oliver,
Yes I do work for Coles Myer. I am a LiquorLand store manager.
Coles Myer Liquor Group includes LiquorLand, Vintage Cellars, Quaffers and Theos.
The range in Liquorland is reasonably limited but Vintage Cellars and particularly Quaffers usually have a fairly decent range. Vintage Cellars and Quaffers should be able to order products in for you as long as they're not too obscure.
I can't comment on Theos as I've never been in one (they only operate in NSW and QLD)

Jeff,
Vintage Cellars and Quaffers can stock Bass Pale Ale. If it's not in stock just ask for it (you'll probably have to buy the slab) and it should be ordered in for you. Quaffers is cheaper than Vintage Cellars so if you have a Quaffers near by go there first.
As for my store... I'm actually in our head office at the moment whilst recovering form knee surgery. I go back to stores next week but at this stage I'm not exactly sure whereabouts. Somewhere in the North Western suburbs of Melbourne though.
