From memory it's in Douro Street, North Geelong, which is not far from North Geelong station.
It's been about six years since I was there, so it may not be any more.
But if it is, it's definitely worth a look.

Ok, So what would we say is the going rate for 1 dozen:
A)Recycled Twist top (clean bottles, labels removed etc etc, )
B)Recycled Twist top (labels not removed, bottles not the cleanest)
C)Roll Top (clean bottles, labels removed etc etc, )
D)Roll Top (labels not removed, bottles not the cleanest)
I have posted a "want it now" on ebay and have had a response, just what the going rate would be approriate. And so i can negotiate a little.

Long time drinker, first time brewer.
Planning to bottle my first brew in the next few days. Should have enough long necks by then but saw the comment about the 1.5L Grolsh bottle and remebered i have on the in the fridge! It was a chrissie present from my best friend (who is a chick and loves beer as much as me in contrast to the last few threads abour women and beer) but has since been sitting in the fridge full of water.
I never thought of using it for bottling til now. Cheers!

Cheap source of long necks
Got inspired. Phoned father-in-law who is part of the bowls club in the country town where he and Woman Hitler[*] live. Had mental image of old codgers sitting round in club after hard afternoon's bowls drinking cheap beer poured from long necks at the bar. Dead right. Got 3 dozen mostly VB, some lite ice. More whenever I want 'em.

I have read 3 or 4 long threads on this forum about where to get bottles.
None were practial as I live in a dry zone 9ie no pubs within a bull's roar) - didn't realise til I moved in.
Anyway, I put the thinking cap on & pondered for a while over a ciggy about who uses masses of longnecks. Then it hit me... Reception centres. how many Deb ballls, weddings & other functions have you been to that serve longnecks @ the tables - they almost always do!
So I found the nearest to me & spoke to the manager - they were happy to help & said next week they have a wedding with 280 people.
That should bag me a few tallies & Champagne bottles!

My mate works in the rehab centre at a local hospital and he gets to talk to a lot of old blokes. Last week one of the old fellas gave him 180 or so old tallies (CUB, Pickaxe,XXXX). great score, as he passed them all on to me! Also while I was at my local HBS this week another old bloke called up to ask if the owner knew anyone who wanted tallies. Unfortunately I was not fast enough and the other bloke in the shop at the time got in first.
But in the past a wanted notice in the local Woolies has always worked for me.

Well guys, I think I just hit the jackpot!
Just made a visit to my local reception centre & asked for some longnecks.
The sent me out the back & told me to "go for it".
I got home and unloaded 10 boxes of dozen VB 800ml longnecks and 2 dozen Sterling longnecks.
Add to that 38 champagne bottles!
My Superautomica bottle capper also has a capper shaft for champagne & I hear its a good way to go as they are stronger.
Only drawback is that the tallie are screwcap, but I have read on this forum there aren't too many issues with capper these with a proper capping machine.
Obviosusly the beer bottles weren't rinsed immediately after consumption, and still aren't.
Qn is... How do I clean the dregs out. Do I use a brush with diluted bleach & water & what kinda/brand brush is the best?

back to the topic, guess what I was given over the weekend, 8 milk crates full of the old crown seal XXXX bottles with the little man embossed into them.
Thing is I keg most of my beers, but think I'll be hanging onto these little beauties.

I work on weekends at a recycling centre in SA, so there are plenty of longnecks floating around there that my boss is happy for me to take free of charge 
Most of them are very old though, even with masses of cleaning the outsides of the bottles seem dirty, but the insides are fine.
Trying something different this time though, I have noticed a few microbreweries (Barossa Valley Brew Company, Mildura Brewing) use the same bottles....375ml Crown Seal Bottles. For my upcoming Ginger Beer, I have grabbed a few cartons of these bottles (BVBC is only a few months old, so the bottles are definately fairly new) and will give em a good wash out. Sure its twice the work to bottle, but I'll see how it goes.
