What to buy?

Post by sammyc »

Hi,

I have received a $100 voucher for the local home brew shop and am trying to work out what to buy. I would happily buy beer and related products but think it may be better spent on more equipment. I already have a reasonable amount with a fermenter, band heater, bottle washer, bottle tree and bottle capper. Also I mainly make brews from kits.

Does anyone have any recommendations of what else I could buy?

Cheers,

Sam

Could get another fermenter to rack into or make more brews with.. or save up for a keg system.

How does racking work exactly? It is not something I have done before.

I'm no expert but you basically syphon the beer from your primary fermenter into a secondary one to get the beer off the yeast bed and let it clear more.

Great call Jay, well worth it, unless of course he is taking Lebs advice on going down the kegging road.

Good luck to you Sammy.
The same question was raised by someone else recently- have a look at this thread: http://www.homebrewandbeer.com/forum/vi ... php?t=1351

I still say heat pad not heat belt. Extra fermenter & bench capper would be my top picks.
Salut!
