Hyjak's light wheat.
Slightly over carbonated, but the resultant huge head goes well on a wheat beer! Fruity, orangey aroma, reminiscent of Hoegaarden Belgian wit yeast. A bit of a palette tester really. Mild contribution from the yeast, along with some malt and a reasonable amount of citrussy hops if my taste buds serve me correctly. Enough malt sweetness to support the substantial bitterness although a hint of that harsh, kit type bitterness does manage to sneak through in the finish not that I'm complaining. Overall a really good beer that would seriously refresh the drinker after mowing the lawn on the kind of hot summer's day one seldom if ever gets in Northern Tasmania.
Hyjak's Last Goop.
Bit overcarbed but no problem. Hops on the nose but I can't be sure which variety/ies. Assertive bitterness with a good balance of supporting malt. Clean fermentation character that allows the late hops to shine. A really enjoyable American style amber ale. Yum.
