Re: Sierra Nevada Pale Ale

I have managed to get my hands on it in Brissy at Stewarts wine co , Portside Wharf Hamilton . They had to order in 12 for me at the disgraceful price of .... $ 70, but I have been so keen to try I went for it. It looks like it has come via the U.K , but it tastes pretty fresh to me and I have ...

Just a question to those of you who have done it . Are there any custom laws / problems in sending back beer to Oz from the States ? My old man is going to Vegas at Christmas and I am keen to get my Hands on SNPA and Fat Tire , thinking this might be a good option for me.

I enjoyed this beer , had a similar hoppiness to LCPA and very smooth . The shiraz grape juice isn't overpowering and gives it that reddy colour. I think I read somewhere that the guy from Saltrams wines got the brewer from Matilda Bay ( Rogers ) to help him design the ale. Maybe why it tastes a ...

Cheers John , Will have to get over to the states again one day. Last time I was there I was 21 and stupid enough to drink the other mega swill that was easilly accessable. That said, I was also smoking Lucky Strike so I don't think taste was big on my agenda at the time.Keep an eye out for the ...

Hi Kip. You wouldn't by chance be the B.M.W motorcycle enthusiest living in Colorado who occasionally visits Brisbane to stay with Lisa and Greg ? On the topic , I am insanely jealous of all the good beer you can get your hands on ie; Fat Tire and SNPA . My wife has talked these beers up for a long ...

I tried this one a few weeks back and bloody loved it. I haven't found a Mac's beer that I didn't like yet. Nelson in N.Z's south island is a Mecca of great beer with many little brewerys to choose from. A must visit if heading over for a holiday.

Sparkious,

Mate you're really overgassing the beer, check the link out below, which details that at 3.9c you should depending upon the Carbonation level you are looking for be at an absolute max. of 138KPa pressure.

Thanks again people. The only reason I tried carbonating @ 350kpa was because I ...

Thaks guys , I picked up some more line today and I have been releasing the keg pressure over the last couple of days .I didn't realise that there was such a science connected to kegging but as with the whole H.B experience there is always something to learn and so many ways to do it.

Big Head

I've recently started kegging and loving it but am having problems with too much head being poured . I've tried gassing the kegs a few ways ie; 24 hrs @ 350 kpa and 40 hrs @ 250 kpa both @ around 4 deg C. Both have had similar results - great beer with massive head . Is this pointing towards over ...

Length of Primary Fermentation

I've only just started using safale yeasts instead of the supplied kit yeast and have noticed a considerable time difference in fermentation. The kit yeasts (coopers, morgans etc.) seem to ferment out just over a week @ 22-24 c and the safale seems to be taking two to three weeks. Is this normal and ...

You don't have to be a member ( I'm not ) you just have to sign in .It's not ...

Weird chemical taste

Hi Gybrid. Just letting you know your not alone , I have the same problem at the moment and it's shitting me to tears. I use sodium met and as was told , I dont rinse afterwards. I'm not sure but the "taste" seems a lot like bicarb soda so I'm going to try rinsing everything thoroughly and see if ...
