Definitely a strange beer. The honey, chamomile and oak chips are all fighting each other to be the dominating flavour.
Maybe it would've been a lot more balanced if the oak was french rather than american.

Yes, it's fun, but at least i could afford Marris Otter malts & more fermenters and such.

Re: Medieval Honey Chamomile Amber
Well it's almost ready to be bottled.
Unfortunately I stuffed up my evaporation rates, so it's a tad diluted.
Also a wasp somehow made it's way into the mash, so I guess that adds to the honey theme hey?!
OG= 1044 ish
FG = 1006 ish

This place seems to have great prices on berries. I still need to get my arse up there for some raspberries.

Re: How long does a gas bottle last?????????
Back on the gas bottles. it's time for another dumb question.
how much does an empty gas bottle & a full gas bottle weigh?
Does a 9kg gas bottle mean it holds 9kg, or is that the empty weight?
Are gas gauges worth it?

Ah, at least there's KnK's... I can brew as many of these suckers, as they only take 10min to whack together.
typical time constraints with a wife & bub.

Re: Brugge Pale Ale
Cheers Tazman,
Next AG up is a Saison. Planning on my AG's being mainly big, exciting beers, seeing as I'll only be doing a few AG's a year, due to time.
Just have to stock up on hops, measure out grain, get it cracked, then book in a brewday on the calendar with SWMBO.

Re: Brugge Pale Ale
This one came third in the NSW State Homebrew Comp. Scored 108.5/150.
I'm cheering!
I must frame that 3rd place certificate for the brewery wall.
I have a case worth left, which I'm trying to cellar... but it's hard not to have one.

Re: Coopers Pale Ale - K&K or extract recipe
Dr Smurto, I've used the CPA kit only once, with just a BE2 and 25g Nelson Sauvin dry hopped.
The flavour of the NS was awesome, but next time I'd do it again with 100% malt. I'm leaving BE's behind now.
EDIT hows' that... I just realised I've already posted. and got my recipe wrong.
That'll teach ...

I scored a handful of BiLo Draught cans earlier this year, and so far haven't had much luck with them, flavour wise.
I have one can left, but might just give it to my brother instead.

Funnily enough I was sober while brewing this one. Something to do with mashing in at 7am.
I'm not really a breakfast beer guy, but you'd think I was from the mess I made.
