firstly your post is unclear, are you suggesting that oxidation is a myth, or that aireation of the wirt is uncalled for?

i will comment on both thease in any case, firstly i dont think oxidation is a myth, why on earth would it be, scientificly and in chemical terms there are chemicals in beer ...

i have a temp controlled mashing pot and dont use the coolbox type, but i do occasonaly use an infusion method to better control the temps, bacicaly i use the Decoction mashing technique to acheve tempriture additions, this is bacicaly just removing some of the mash and boiling it then adding it ...

i use this yeast all the time and it does ferment quickly, overnight is a bit much tbh, but still i run it at 18degrees c.

i use it by eather getting a cup of water (preboiled and cooled) at about 28degrees and tipping the yeast onto the top of it then covering it with clingfilm and leaving it for ...

yeh i agree, it takes a hell of a lot to infect a brew,

iv had my hands in it fixing leaky barrels and such (after rincing them in sanotising solution ofc) but still iv never infected a brew and iv done some dodgy things like used unsanitised syphon tubes by accident, and had to use my mouth to ...

yeh, let me be totaly clear for you.

hops can be added at any time and in any way you want during the brewing process. they contain a mild antibactirial substance that allows you to add them to the fermenter mid ferment without fear of infection, infact hops actualy ...

hops last for years if stored correctly.
dark and cold. seal them in a bag and put then in the fridge, the only thing that happens over time is the acids degrade so you will need to add a little more after a few months.

ahhhh, pellets??. i use the flowers. it depends on what your trying to achive, if you have made all you additions in the pan and wish to add some extra aroma then i would just add them dry "un teabagged" into the fermentor about 2 days befor bottling. but i have boiled them in the kettle for a min ...

you say 8th beer, do you mean 8th fill of the keg, or 8th fill of your pintglass.

but all is well now, i just gassed up 2 brews in the new bar which were sitting in the keg for that last 6 months or so. infact i havent even christened my new house with a brew day. iv got one planned for next weekend after i get all ...

as you can see it dont look like a lot has happend in the past fer months, but beleve me it has. i actualy built a whole fridge myself out of a freeser i destroyed. and iv had to aquire a lot of bits and pices to make it all work.
