I am planning on putting the LCPA down this week. I have brewed the recipe Boonie posted and it was one of the best brews so far. This will be the first time I have used grain so I will have to do a search to work out what to do with it. I know there is a thread on here somewhere.
How long does the ...

I'm vego as well. I don't use any finings in my brews. I wouldn't bother using any alternatives to gelatine based finings.

Thanks guys, I wasn't that worried about it at the time. Started to think about it later that night. Possible infection? Not fully fermented? Expolding bottles?
Nothing to worry about now.
It's all good :D

Brew temp was 18-22 degress C.
Yeast was from a Coopers Pale Ale can. I was told that it was the same yeast that comes in the stout can.
I used the the bottler.

I put down an all malt Thomas Coopers Sparkling Ale. Pretty simple brew. Somehow got infected, possibly from the yeast and was half drinkable. Thought it might have got better with age but after about 18 months I think it has got worse. Couldn't bring myself to tip it down the sink.Found a mate who ...

My lid is always hard to get off after bottleing. Most times it turns into a two person job. One to tightly hug the fermenter while the other screws the lid off. Sometimes I even have trouble during the cleaning process.
I will be using the hot water method next time to make things easier.

I also put my first stout down the other day.
A Coopers Stout with BE2.18L Brew
The can was given to me and was a couple of months past the Best Before date. I chucked the yeast and used another that I had in the fridge. The yeast was from a Coopers Pale Ale kit.
Am I right to assume that the Pale ...

I keep them in a cupboard that sits at about 15 degress these days. I can usually wait a month before a taste test and by that time they have carbeb up fine.
Don't worry about the electric blanket.

I currently use the Pink Stain Remover. Works well for me.
Might try the Bi-Carb/Vinegar method next.
What quantities of each would be suitable for 10L of water?

I find the head retention can vary from bottle to bottle. I try to mature my brews for 3 months before drinking. Does temp variations affect bottled beers?

I emailed the coopers site regarding this. They said CPA & CSA could be cellered up to 2 years after the best after date. I used to buy a few cases when it was on sale. Didn't really notice much difference in the aged bottles.

I had a couple of glasses at the Australian on the weekend. I like it but I recommend trying it before you buy, although it I can't see why you wouldn't enjoy it. I think they were selling it for $15 per sixpack at the pub in Picton. I regret not buying one or two last time I was there.

I don't drink more than four stubbies a night during the week. Most often it will be two stubbies or one longneck. On weekends it's roughly the same if I am drinking at home. If I go to the pub with mates I would drink up to eight schooners. There is a guide to alcohol consumption. I think it has ...

I have brewed the Brewcraft recipe kit. It has been bottled for 3 months now and I tried a couple on the weekend. It turned out really good. I will have to do a taste test to see how close it is to the original. I plan on doing boonie's recipe next.
