Chaps,

As so often happens on this forum, ask and you receive (and please no one bring up the pony!).

There's now a wine (and cider, mead, et al) section, and a spirits section, dealing with both distilling your own spirits and brewing spirits (things like brewed bourbon and cola).

I trust you'll find this satisfactory!

Cheers,

Oliver

Since Tahbilk Estate's decision to stop making bulk red wine, I've been commissioned by the family to start winemaking. Therefore I'd appreciate a forum on the topic. Anyone else into this?
I wouldn't mind a wine section - I made wine for the first time this year

Here are my notes on the expirience http://hyperfox.info

Mead and Cider too??

The voices in my head keep talking about doing a sparkling mead 'Methode Champenois'.

Cheers,
Greg

Spirits is interesting, wine is legal.

Despite my earlier warnings about legality, I am definitely not opposed to learning the "theory".

NTR, the money will find itself I have found.

Yes,
Count me in to,would like to know the dark side of the evil spirits, eg. JD,JB,JW and some of the others.
But, this is a beer site so i suppose it should be about beer...

I would be interested, if I could at all afford both the still setup and the flavouring ingredients. Sadly my budget would not really stretch beyond turbo yeast, dextrose and a couple of carbon filters.

Anyone else?

Please start one...so those of us who want the to know the THEORETICAL procedures for distilling our own alcohol have a source of information... purely for the sake of knowledge

Chaps,

If there's a lot of call for a spirits section I'll start one.

Over to you ...

Oliver

fair call.. i found a forum anywho

cheers

Hey Stangas,

You'd have to be a bit cautious, it is illegal to distill alcohol in Australia, the best we can hope to discuss would be the 20% washes made from 9kg dextrose, water and turbo yeast.

Or distilling "essential oils"! (which is legal)
