Hi all,

Onto my third K&k(+) and given I don't have beersmith, though you all might be able to help me. I want to lay down my Easter brew and have the following:

1 Can of Coopers European lager
Saflager S 23
90gms of D Saaz Nz Pellets
90gms of Cascade NZ flowers
1 kg of LDME
1 kg of Dextrose

Pretty confident I should get a nice brew from that - just what and when? My first 2 brews were a stock Coopers APA and then a Coopers Lager with some finishing hops. Both great sucessess, the ale is getting great (@3.5mths) and the Lager is improving (@3months).

I am helping to do this Easter afternoon...sorrry for the late request!

Cheers!

thats a truck load of hops.. you boiling at all?

I dont use 90gms all up in my APA's

If you wanna nice euro lager id ditch the cascade and just add 30-40gms of the D-Sazz and make sure she ferments at 10-12c

90gm is what I have ...not what I plan to use :D

Thanks - Just the Saaz is what I was thinking, quantities and timing is what I don't know.

Ahh ok..

well maybe this..

1xCan Coopers
1kg Dex
500gms LDME
20gms D-Sazz 15mins
30gms D-Sazz flame out

boil the dex and ldme in about 6-7l of water for 15mins with 20gms hops as above.. when its done add 30gms of d-sazz and cool it in an ice bath.

Into the fermentor with the coopers kit and water (chilled if needed) to get it down to 15c, pitch yer yeast and off you go.

Cheers...what is everyones thoughts on Temp (I cannot get this lager down to 10-12degs) I CAN keep it at a steady 15ish degs (maxing at 19 over last month)...should I use the Saflager S23 - which is pretty temp sensitive, or use the Salager (189?) that comes with the Euro Lager, and is reportedly a bit less sensitive at the higher end lager temps?

Cheers again

Go with the S23, it will take temps up to 18 degrees. If you want a true Euro Style Lager go with W34/70 but you need more temp control with it.
