Suggestions for 1st real GB recipe

Howdy all I bought a new fermenter today ( my 3rd ) and I want to make my 1st ever real GB.
Now there 4,000 recipes on this site for GB but I would like some suggestions for a extremely simple one for my 1st attempt.
The more basic the better and please be descriptive as I said I have never made a real one before.
Think of this as GB for dummies..lol

I havnt had a go at this one yet but it looks nice and simple.

That is one hell of a expencive drink ..
Ginger is $12 bucks a kilo
dont know about LLME but LDM is like $8 bucks a kg
500g of standed honey is $7 bucks
Dont know about the price of the other stuff
so unless im missing somthing in my caculations that like $40 bucks
mmm think i might just buy a bottle of 12yr old shivers Regal.

I make a nice dry GB from scratch.
Replace the malt with raw sugar.
Cinnamon sticks are cheap as are cloves and lemons. Visit an asian grocery store. I pick up ginger for about $10/kg and the spices are dirt cheap.
Use a champagne yeast. Leave out the honey.
This wont be a big a GB (in flavour and mouthfeel) as the one listed but will be nice and gingery, alcoholic and fizzy. If you want to make it sweet mix it with a dash of lemonade.
20L of alco GB for ~$20-25 vs 750mL of blended scotch for $40.
Easy decision.

mmm think i might just buy a bottle of 12yr old shivers Regal.
Go and have a look at how much a case of Stones alcoholic ginger beer is, then you won't worry about spending that much to make 2 cases of the stuff.

Yer but this is my 1st ever try at makign it,, if i go buy a case at lest i know im not going to be tiping it down the drain becose i stuffed it up.. 40 bucks is way to much for a 1st attemt at somthing that im worred about geting wrong.

There really is not much u can do wrong just remember to clean everything.....boil what needs to be boiled.....and ur fine.
And sometimes u just have to take that risk to achieve something special...it's worth it by the way.

1.25 Kg Ginger @ 60 Minutes
0.30 Kg Ginger @ 15 Minutes
1.00 Kg Dark Belgian Candi Sugar @ 5 Minute Sugars Boil
1.00 Kg Raw Sugar @ 5 Minute Sugars Boil
0.50 Kg Brown Sugar @ 5 Minute Sugars Boil
0.50 Kg Yellowbox Honey @ 20 Minutes
0.10 Kg Molasses @ 60 Minutes
0.50 Kg Crystal Malt Steeped for 30, Added to boil @ 60 Minutes
0.30 Kg Carapils Malt Steeped for 30, Added to boil @ 60 Minutes
12.00 No. Cloves @ 60 Minutes
2.00 No. Cinnamon Sticks @ 60 Minutes
3.00 No. Lemons (50 g Zest @ 60 Minutes, 360 g Flesh @ 20 Minutes, Pith - Removed)
8.00 g Yeast Nutrient @ Flameout
0.25 Kg Light Dried Malt Extract @ Flameout
0.25 Kg Lactose @ Flameout
7.00 g Lavin EC-1118
Volume: 23L
This brew has turned out incredibly different, amazingly messed up and I don’t know where to start on the taste. It won’t taste like anything else, but you'll probably like it. The sweetness is minor but balances everything well. Only thing I’d do again would be to strain out the lemons, as they’re a little overpowering.
If making this brew I’d use fewer lemons, but change little else in the brew.
Drink a few, and you'll learn to love it!
