How many brews should your fermenter last for. Mine is realy starting to get stained and will this cause any damage to my future beers.

Thanks,
Ghost

How many brews have you put through it? Provided it's cleaned right it should last for ages, unless you break it!

If you don't clean it with any abrasive cleaners or brushes it should'nt stain at all. Try cleaning it with a solution of warm water and baking soda and a soft cloth, comes up a treat.

Well it was sitting in the shed for a couple of years and its mostly done stouts before that cause I lent it to the old man. I took it out of hybernation and have done about 13 different brews so far just looking a bit tired on the inside

Mine lasted 15 years before I put my foot through it.

Uncles has lasted 17 years so far. Still seems ok, and it is constantly used.

I have had stained fermenters from brewing lots of Stouts and dark ales. The fermenter takes on a brown tint, this is easily removed.

To remove fill the fermenter with water and add a cap full of neon pink (the large screw cap from the neon pink tub) or similar and leave it sit overnight. Then give a wipe with a soft cloth empty and rinse and stain will be gone if not repeat.
