Dogger has helped a lot of people on this forum me included.Stop the bickering and kurts/hrundibrakeshi or whatever you call yourself grow up and relise that that we don,t care about the sceince we only care about about our hobby of makeing a good brew for us and our neighbours. So relax have a texas black (me and my neighbours favourite) and enjoy.p/s if you need a glass when you visit for a brew just ask; always got one for a fellow brewer

You know,
I was actually pretty sore over this incident for a bit and felt really bad, I didn't sleep much last night because I am not really big on offending people for any reason. I mucked around with my kids today and things really became clear and I haven't thought about it since.
For anyone who thinks I had something to do with altering posts etc, I spent Christmas with my wife and three children. I am 42 years old and my kids are 10, 9 and 4. I have brewed for 17 years, always won an award at every beer tasting I entered and yes , I to am a judge. If you think I had nothing better these holidays than to basterdize some ones post who I couldnt give a fiddlers f--- about, well I am really sorry for you.
On top of it, yes Kurtz, there really is a yardglass and I am not he/she.
Now I manned up and apologized several times for things that are really questionable and it would be nice if it happened in return but I am pretty certain it aint going to happen. I am sure there are misunderstandings but to be honest there is a lot of questionable crap happening on this site recently.
This was once a great place, there was banter, there was fun and most of all people learned things, amazing things and they grasped the science behind it.
The funny thing about science is it has its own language, and if you don't speak the lingo you are branded a fool. Shame about that. Hard to believe that a colonoscopy amounts to someone shoving a camra up your arse.
Nuff said, This place was once real and once nice. Today, it really isn't real nice at all.

I'm with beerpig, lets lock this away and get on with the real reason we come here!
BEER and all things Beer, lets get back to sharing ideas and suggestions without resorting to name calling. If I want name calling I just have to go stand in the playground at school!
This site is a valuable source of info for many people, me included, I'd hate to lose Dogger's input. I've learnt many a valuable lesson from him over my time here.
Anyway It's still Christmas somewhere so relax, enjoy the company of friends and raise a glass to thos you love and to those you don't as well. There's too much anger in the world, we don't need to add to it here.

501,
all's good, same as dry hopping.
does your HBS sell pellets ?
you're better off getting them if you can imo, make a Hop Tea or just lob them in when you rack to secondary.
mho.

ah yeh,
but I had a look in the fridge and saw raw por flowers ?
I am just a kit ++ mixer at present but interested..
you mean like get a bulk bag of pellets and save on the packaging,
I guess.

nah,
50gm packets are the norm in my HBS.
about 4 or 5 bucks.
even my HBS has about 7 different varieties.
a bit more cost effective than those 12gm bags, you don't have to do a boil to utilise the pellets.
like i said, make up a tea or sling them in loose, someone here said they dry hop into secondary using a stocking or muslin bag.
hope this helps

Kurtz,
The kilo of hops, in the boil for how long?
I heard on one of the Brewing Network shows a method of putting a big amount of hops in the boil for only a couple of minutes.
Cheers,
Greg
