Accidentally ordered a XXXX Gold tonight in Gladstone. It was (surprisingly) ok...

1: A bit.

2: Squires Pale misheard for XXXX Gold by the barman. He'd nearly finished filling the second schooner before I noticed. It was icy cold and on a balmy night... Well, it was OK. Not great, or even good, but OK.

I can't quite read the ABV on the can, but that's one hell of a "Pale Ale" with an OG of 1064!

Only $14.90 for a four pack. American points though, only 475 I think.

That's basically $15 for a 6-pack, which is great for a 6.3% quality craft beer. Where'd you get 'em?

I was at the Uncle's joint last Saturday buying some Grandfather port for my brother-in-law's 50th pressie. As usual spent 10 mins browsing the craft section, and didn't see the Bronx. Will have to look again.

I did leave with a Monthieth's Bohemian Pilsner (I'm planning to brew a Bo Pils soon, my first lager, and wanted something to compare) and a Ballast Point Big Eye IPA.

And I think you got ripped on the $14.90...website has a 4-pack for $13!

About as good as it gets in my opinion.

Currently drinking a Vale Dark. US style dark lager. Very nice drop but I'm not completely sold on the hops/Caraffa Spec combo but definitely worth trying. I just think I'd prefer a continental pils malt backbone in lieu of hops. Second thought, might as well make it a Kostritzer Dark.
