G'day all, just joined and love the reading. Dug out the old fermenter on the weekend and put down a New Zealand Black Rock lager this morning. Looking forward to plenty of brews and views

How long since you put down brew. ?
10 year break for me ,things are so much better with sites like this with some real knowagable poeple
to help with your re found hobby.Just a word of warning this can lead to obssesive behavior .
The wife thinks ive turned into a nutty professor who lives in the shed.

If we are boasting about a break in brewing, try from 1973 to 2006.

What was your no 1 brew back in 73 warrra,why so long away
from brewing?

I did it for a while after the then Labor government removed the excise provisions on homebrewing in 1973.
Was flatting with some mates at the time.

Then the usual things such as romance, family, career, home and mortgage etc took priority.

Having retired at age 58, I now have enough time to spend the better part of a day putting down AG brews.
I was never a megaswill drinker with any great enthusiasm, and always sought out more unusual brews. Now I can indulge my passion as I wish.
