James Squire Amber Ale

Post by Conrad »

Vintage Cellars in Mentone has (had?) on the weekend some 12 bottle cases of James Squire Amber Ale (and some Pilsner but I got the last 2 of those) on special for $15.

They are "close to the Best Before date" and that is why they are going cheap. When I went in last (Saturday), there would have been 15 boxes left. You might still like to try your luck if you are down that way.

They also stock my other favourite, Schoferhoffer, so I drop in whenever I am near there.
Life is too short to drink cheap beer!

I am a VC worker, but in inner city Sydney.

The 12 packs were from a previous Cellar Press edition (montly special mag).

$15 is a killer price (cheaper than a 6 pack).

Just went past the Vintage Cellars in King St in Melbourne and saw they had a heap of 12 packs of Amber Ale for $24. I didn't see if they were close to the best before date but that ones I bought from the Mentone shop were only 4 days out from the best before and they tasted perfect.
