General homebrew discussion, tips and help on kit and malt extract brewing, and talk about equipment. Queries on sourcing supplies and equipment should go in The Store.
I just noticed the add in brewers magazine and they seem to be the house kit of brewerschoice in Healsville. http://www.brewerschoice.net.au/html/brew%20kits.htm The java pop up doesn't work to give a description of the kits.
They seem pretty well priced and I know it sounds sucky but I love the labels
They are also pretty good in terms of prices for equipment, hops, malts etc. Can anyone recommend the cans or give feedback on brews done with them.
I might give one or two a try in place of the usual muntons/coopers etc and see how it goes. I'll post up their service and the result of the brews too.
Using kits can be frowned on at times even if you add grain, hops and malt but these are worth putting on the bar shelf when empty just for the pics on them A giant wank that has sucked me in

Haven't posted anything here for a looooooong while, but saw your query chadjaja and felt compelled to respond.
Tried a couple of the Brew Wizard kits and sadly haven't been too impressed. The High Country Pale andf the Pils were the two and they both lacked something - pretty thin bodied brews and won't be rushing back to use them again. Colin - the owner - is a great guy though and has some good stuff, especially his imported beers.
Last time I checked it was in Woori Yallock though, not Healesville.
I made them up to approx 20 litres and like you, used malts rather than dextrose or other brewing sugars.
Would have to check my notes, but I think I used a better quality yeast - a Safale from memory for the PA... not sure on the pils.
Like most kits I'm sure they'd be improved by steeping some grains, but I won't be rushing back to try them again - prefer to pay more for the likes of Muntons or the top shelf Coopers kits.
