If you had 4/5 of these 5L demi johns you could trial different yeast with identical grain bills.....

you mean just plain old household buckets? are they food-grade? wouldn't like anything to leach out of the plastic..

Yes those buckets are exactly what I mean. I just checked mine, it is actually 9L but does not say what kind of plastic it is made of.

Kev, you know my opinion on the term 'food grade'....

I reckon the buckets are the go, easier to get the beer out of than my 5L glass demi johns. I have a jiggler siphon which isnt the best since it stirs up the brew quite a bit!

I use the same buckets for 'measuring' my water for brewing and also for storing the one shot when sanitising the brewery.

If my fridge shelves are strong enough to hold them I could potentialy fit 12 in at a time, which is three 24L batches at 6L per bucket.

I would have to rig something up to keep the rubberband from creeping down the bucket and letting the cling wrap come away from the bucket, though I have not tried it looks like the sides are at too much of an angle for the band to stay up on it's own.

Leave it to you to suggest duct tape :P

It just might be crazy enough to work!
