Hombrew comp judges wanted

Postby Oliver » Monday Feb 03, 2014 8:55 pm

Hi guys,

Last year I judged the homebrew section of the Jindivick Show and they asked me to do it again this year but unfortunately I can't.

So I said I'd put the call out for volunteers.

Jindivick is about 1:15 east of Melbourne. The judging is on February 22, beginning at 11am. Morning tea and lunch are provided and it should wrap up about 2. Last year we even went home with a heap of Jindi cheese on the house.

No experience or judging qualifications are necessary (I didn't have any last year) and it's really just tasting a few homebrews, making some comments about them if you see fit and picking some winners. There were some great beers last year, and some not-so-great ones. There were lots of kit and kilo brews, and some that were probably partial mash or all-grain.

Jindivick is a small town and everyone's friendly, and the judging is very relaxed and a lot of fun. The show, held on the Sunday, is a typical country show.

They're happy for two or three judges so it might be a chance for some of you guys to meet each other.

If you're interested in judging, PM me by the end of this Friday, February 7, and I will pass on your details.

Oh, and don't forget you will need someone to drive you home!

Cheers,

Oliver

What, no takers for the opportunity to drink free homebrew?

I need to let the show organise know tonight if I've found someone.

Don't be shy. As I said in the original post, there's no experience necessary and it's all very relaxed and informal.

Anyone ... ?

Cheers,

Oliver
