I wired mine up myself, and it wasn't difficult, even for someone as electrically challenged as I am.
There's a very good thread on AHB about wiring it up. I can post a link if needed.

Looks like a good buy.
Our son-in-law is into tropical fish in a big way, and he uses this type to control the temperature of his huge fishtank.

I have 2 of those ebay tempmate knockoffs linked above.

Work a treat. I did get mine wired up by a fellow brewer but that is because i am a DIY-phobe. If i get to within 5m of a hammer i get hurt.

I use a heat pad that i picked up from ebay - Link at a fraction of the price of a brewing heat pad. Does the same thing.
